INTERVIEW GUIDANCE NOTES
Thorough preparation before you attend an interview is vital to your success. Your Red Berry Recruitment Consultant will provide you with details of the role and background information on the Company, but the information detailed below will be invaluable.
Before the Interview- Research the company using the internet, libraries or publications.
- Attend the interview dressed smartly and be well groomed.
- Arrive in plenty of time – ideally 10 minutes before your interview.
- Greet the interviewer with a smile and a firm handshake.
- Be aware of your body language – maintaining good eye contact, nodding and not fidgeting are positive signals to an interviewer.
- Listen carefully to all questions, responding clearly and concisely. Always remember the role to which you are applying and answer accordingly.
- Be enthusiastic about the role and company.
- Never talk over or interrupt the interviewer.
- Never speak negatively of companies or colleagues.
- Describe your present / last job?
- Why do you want to leave your present job?
- What do you know about our company?
- What is your understanding of this role?
- Why would you be successful in this role?
- Describe your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your future plans? Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
- Why has this vacancy arisen?
- Can you describe a typical day in this role?
- How would you describe the working environment?
- What job related training programmes are available?
- Do you have any information on the role/company that I can take away with me?
- What is the next stage of the interviewing process?
- When will you be making your final decision?
