Red Berry Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Head of Business Development to cover the South West of England and London. Our client provides a range of exciting IT Services to various professional services based in Somerset, London and the rest of the world. 

The company has grown quickly over the last couple of years and their ambition is to continue that expansion. This is a senior role and your main focus will be on increasing the MRR (monthly recurring revenue) by selling IT Managed Services.

Creating new business sales will be the priority for this role with a focus on regulated sectors such as Insurance, Financial Services and Legal.

As a senior member of our client’s close knit team you will have the opportunity to be a big part of their business, and be integral to the success and further growth. 

To succeed in this role, you will have an excellent understanding and appreciation of various sales processes within a professional services business and have a real desire to build meaningful, long term relationships with customers.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be responsible for our new business efforts. This will include:

  • Proactively looking for referrals from their existing clients.
  • Actively targeting new prospects in their target markets, insurance, financial services, legal and accounting.
  • Promoting, running and hosting learning events such as breakfast briefings for new prospects.
  • Running the sales process for your opportunities from start to finish.
  • Ensuring that the pipeline is healthy in the short and long term
  • Weekly reporting to the business.
  • Working with the management team to refine and improve the sales strategy.

Professional Experience

Must have:

  • Professional services background (selling IT services)
  • Track record of successful sales performance with both existing and new clients
  • Track record of winning new business in the SME space.

  • Experienced sales professional who takes your craft seriously.
  • Team-orientated.
  • Structured and organised.
  • Attention to detail (ability to recognise that the client’s experience of the sales process directly impacts their perception of service quality)
  • Good written English
  • Creative
  • Credibility at board level.
  • Self-motivated and positive.

The package:

  • Basic salary up to £45,000 + up to £20,000 OTE
  • 22 days’ holiday (plus 8 bank holidays)
