Here at Red Berry Recruitment we are recruiting for an experienced HR Manager for one of our prestigious clients based in Yeovil.

The role is £35,000 – £40,000 pro rata with the expectation of working 20 hours per week.

We are looking for someone with at least four years’ experience and a CIPD Level 5.

What the role involves

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and delivering the processes and policies of people recruitment, induction, people management, career development and training
  • Partnering with department heads and senior managers, identify organisational change needs and support change management plans which will enhance business performance.
  • Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management;
  • Administrating financial elements such as payroll, compensation and benefits and pension schemes
  • Ensuring the operational delivery of key annual activities in line with the people calendar such as Appraisals, Pay Reviews, Bonus, Company Days.
  • Providing detailed HR reports to senior management teams
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
  • Ensure all employee handbooks, contracts, policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current legislation
  • Identifying and evaluating testing and training resources to effectively manage the continuing professional development of our people.
  • Manage any employee agreement changes within consultation processes
  • Providing advice and support to managers on matters relating to employee relations and employment law which includes disciplinary, grievance and performance management.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll need:

  • Strong, operational people and employee relations experience from a varied range of organisations –able to effectively advise colleagues and partners on day-to-day and longer-term people matters
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation
  • Good management experience in leading and developing exceptional teams
  • To understand and respect the culture at Blake and be able to bring that to life for people across the business
  • To be able to foster effective working relationships with people at all levels across the business with a high standard of diplomacy and professionalism
  • The ability to make sound commercial decisions regarding employee investment to meet business needs
  • To have excellent project management skills to ensure multi-departmental projects are executed brilliantly and evaluated, with proven time management and prioritisation skills
  • To be able to communicate, negotiate and influence colleagues at all levels, with excellent active listening skills
  • Have a bias for action, taking ownership and accountability when proactively making decisions and resolving issues with impartiality and objectivity
  • Good IT skills and a solid understanding of systems and processes to be able to operate effectively with meticulous accuracy
  • Business acumen and a strategic mind to be able to adapt people management theory into operational practices at Blake with the ability to balance between supporting the company and the needs of the staff
  • High levels of emotional intelligence and awareness of their own communication style
  • We are looking for you to be CIPD Level 5 or 7 Qualified
