My First Tender by Jessica Harmer

Proposing a tender isn’t something that I have done before so when Helen, my MD, mentioned that a very prestigious Yeovil client had invited us to stand, my emotions were a mixture of excitement and nerves.

Firstly, we had to prepare ourselves, in order to give the highest standard of performance, and to go in armed with all information so as no question would go unanswered.

After discussing the details of the contract with Helen, we were pretty confident that we had a tender to ‘Wow’!

When we arrived at the clients door the nerves kicked in, but true Berry style, without fail we kept smiling and hoped for the best.

The client immediately made us feel exceptionally welcome, even providing us both with a much needed strong coffee for a last minute power surge!

I was then expecting to enter a room similar to that of Alan Sugar’s boardroom so I was relieved to find we were talking in a smaller function room with an audience of only two… two warm smiley faces!

A mixture of passion and nerves must have taken over from that point onwards as we then successfully delivered, what I would say, was a very professional tender.

We are now working alongside the company and helping them with their recruitment needs. Although this is a first, and a challenge it just went to show the outcome of Berry passion!
